What Is Intelligence? #

What is intelligence?

Well, let us start with what intelligence is not.

It is not reading Chaucer at an early age.
It is not advancing your career via the fruits of psychopathy.
It is not remaining static or moving backwards professionally despite the competitive advantage of public schools, Oxbridge and freemasonry.
It is not a sharp suit and a clipped accent, nor is it the ability to pronounce the word "golf" in a ludicrous manner.
It is not the demonstration of a stiff upper lip when under pressure.
It is not complexity in order to disguise shallowness of argument.
It is not a cornered market, a monopoly, a duopoly or the ability to trade on privileged insider information.
It is not the benefits gained via a private income.
It is not elitist, nor is it snobby.
It is not understanding archaic etiquette.
It is not a Prada handbag.
It is not the elevation of selected knowledge to inappropriately high planes.
It is not static and inflexible.
It is not listening to Wagner, nor is it attending Glyndebourne or Royal Ascot.
It is not an addiction to high-grade Colombian Charlie.
It is not Larry Summers or Alan Greenspan or Hank Paulson or Gordon Brown.
It is not right wing ideologues gaining career elevation by espousing the 'virtues' of the free market system.
It is not myopic.
It is not the production of 'high level' consultancy documents showing that house prices increase more than average if under the Heathrow Airport flightpaths.
It is not being asked to sit on governmental think tanks.
It is not devoid of humour.
It is not the existential state of being either Great or Good.
It is not attending dinner parties where you drop anecdotes about Harold Pinter and discuss Fibonacci numbers.
It is not the utilisation of complex linguistics in order to disguise a lack of fundamental meaning.
It is not gained by the employment of an 'ideas person'.
It is not short-termist.
It is not irrational.
It is not inefficient, nor is it non-meritocratic.
It is not Black Box algorithmic modelling.
It is not a blinkered perspective.
It is not represented by herd-like behaviourisms.
It is not hunting, shooting and fishing.

The remainder of this post discusses the Privileged, the Intelligent and the Psychopathic and their roles in the onset of the Permanent Depression.
