'Tis A Pity The Old Lady Is A Whore

The entire board of Juventus resigned yesterday over the corruption inquiry over false accounting and market manipulation that is swirling around the club.

Some angles...

Firstly, Agnelli should have been ousted previously over his links to 'Ndrangheta mafia.
Secondly,  ████████████████████ █████ ████████████████████ (who allegedly spot corruption in sport) sell information to the 'Ndrangheta!
Thirdly, at least Italy attempts to confront some of the corruption in their calcio unlike England where it is performative to the entire system - calciopoli would never have happened in the Premier League.
Fourthly, one of the referees exposed by calciopoli was Pierluigi Pairetto who aided Juventus in selection of officials for their Champions League games while holding the position of vice chairman of the UEFA Referees Committee - 'vice' being the operative word here. He was banned for 3 and a half years.
Fifthly, his son Luca is now a corrupt referee who was stood down over the fixing of a Lazio match at the conclusion of last season before being reinstated due to his fascist links when fascist Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni was elected.

You're twisting my Meloni, man!

Our Broker's View Of The Qatar World Cup 2022

From Our Man In Canberra

Twisted agendas and fake information flows and contorted realities and performance enhancing drugs and insider trading very deep in the market and ageing players bolstering their bank balances by under-performance and spectacle with the politics removed, all baked with systemic corruption in a geopolitical sauce.

Who Should Go To Qatar (If Southgate Wasn't Captured By Rogue Agents)?

As player selection ratchets up for the Qatar World Cup, the mainstream football media is selling space to the SWUC cartel of agents.

So we had the Guardian promoting Reece James (Unique) over Alexander-Arnold prior to his injury and we have the Guardian telling us that MC's Walker (CAA / Base) and Phillips (Stellar) are "fit" and "optimistic" about getting a place in Southgate's squad while numerous papers are extolling the virtues of Loftus Cheek (Stellar) who has been a moderate performer at Che recently.

Below is the 26 man squad that would be chosen from Who Scored? Player Ratings (prior to this weekend's games).

And here is an article about Gareth Southgate - How Many People Own A Slice Of The Southgate Pizza?

26 Man Squad

Pickford Pope Henderson Ramsdale
Trippier Tarkowski Mee Cresswell Young Gomez White Dier
Maddison Saka Rice Mount March Harrison Bellingham Ward-Prowse
Foden Kane Toney Wilson Rashford Sterling

No Jordan Henderson, no Stones (Wasserman), no Shaw (Stellar), no Mings (Wasserman), no Grealish (Stellar), no Walker (CAA / Base), no Phillips (Stellar), no Loftus Cheek (Stellar), no Maguire, no Chilwell (Stellar), no Coady, no Gallagher, no shit...

It should be recognised that rogue agents manipulating squad places for their sub-standard clients is a major input as to why England football team never win anything.

With no gap between domestic campaign and the World Cup Finals, it is the in form players who should be selected.

A Personal Message From Stella Assange

Julian remains imprisoned in Belmarsh after more than three years at the behest of US prosecutors. He faces a prison sentence of up to 175 years for arguably the most celebrated publications in the history of journalism.

Patel's decision to extradite Julian has sent shockwaves across the journalism community. The home secretary flouted calls from representatives of the Council of Europe, the OSCE, almost 2000 journalists and 300 doctors for the extradition to be halted.

When Julian calls around the children's bedtime, they talk over each other boisterously. The calls only last 10 minutes, so when the call ended abruptly the other night Max, who is three, asked tearfully if it was because he'd been naughty. I absentmindedly said it wasn't his fault, but Mike Pompeo's. Five year old Gabriel asked: "Who is Mike Pompeo?"

Mike Pompeo had been on my mind, because while the home secretary in this country was busy signing Julian's extradition order, in Spain a High Court judge was summoning Pompeo for questioning regarding his role as director of the CIA in their reported plots to murder my husband.

While at the helm of the CIA, President Trump's most loyal supporter reportedly tasked his agents with preparing "sketches" and "options" for the assassination of their father.

The citation for Pompeo to appear before a Spanish judge comes out of an investigation into illicit spying of Julian and his lawyers through a company registered in Spain. Spanish police seized large amounts of electronic data, and insiders involved in carrying out the clandestine operation testified that they acted on instruction of the CIA. They had discussed abducting and poisoning Julian.

Gabriel was six months old at the time and had been a target too. One witness was instructed to obtain DNA swabs from a soiled nappy in order to establish that Julian was his father. Another admitted to planting hidden microphones under the fire extinguishers to tap legally privileged meetings between Julian and his lawyers.

The recordings of Julian's legal meetings in the Ecuadorian embassy in London were physically transported to handlers in the United States on a regular basis. A break-in at Julian's lawyers' office was caught on camera, and investigators discovered photographs of Julian's lawyers' legal papers taken inside the embassy. The operations targeting his lawyers read like they are taken from a Soviet playbook.

Across the pond, ever since the Nixon administration's attempted prosecution of the New York Times over the Pentagon Papers over half a century ago, constitutional lawyers had been warning that the 1917 Espionage Act would one day be abused to prosecute journalists.

It was President Obama's administration that nlivened the creeping misuse of the Espionage Act. More journalistic sources were charged under the Act than all previous administrations combined, including WikiLeaks source Chelsea Manning; CIA torture whistleblower John Kiriakou, and NSA spying whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Following massive public pressure Obama commuted Chelsea Manning's 35-year sentence. Obama declined to prosecute Julian for publishing Manning's leaks because of the implications for press freedom.

After the Obama administration's Espionage Act charging spree, it was just a matter of time before another administration expanded the interpretation of the Act even further.

That day came soon enough. Trump's administration broke new legal ground with the indictment of Julian for receiving, possessing and publishing the Manning leaks. Meanwhile in Langley, Virginia, Pompeo tasked CIA assassination plans.

Priti Patel's decision comes amidst sweeping government reforms of an increasingly totalitarian bent - the plans to weaken the influence of the European Court of Human Rights and the decision to extradite Julian are the coup de grace.

The home secretary's proposed reforms to the UK's Official Secrets Act largely track the Trump-era indictment against Julian: publishers and their sources can be charged as criminal co-conspirators.

Julian's extradition case itself creates legal precedent. What has been understood to be a bedrock principle of democracy, press freedom, will disappear in one foul swoop.

As it stands, no journalist is going to risk having what Julian is being subjected to happen to them. Julian must be freed before it's too late. His life depends on it. Your rights depend on it.

Killing Assange While Preaching Press Freedom - A New Year Message - Guest Article By Yonden Lhatoo

As a working journalist, am I concerned about what's happening to press freedom in Hong Kong?

Absolutely.

But am I going to be lectured on it by plaster saints like the US and its cronies?

Absolutely not.

Let me tell you why.

Imagine if a Chinese journalist blows the lid on a plethora of present day "war crimes" and "crimes against humanity" perpetrated by China. And imagine if this journalist breaks the news from another country, but is about to be extradited to China to be imprisoned for the rest of his life or worse. The whole world would self-combust in collective outrage.

Well , there is no such Chinese journalist.

There is, however, a giant of an Australian journalist in such a predicament and the villain of the piece is the United States, not China. I'm talking about Julian Assange, and even as I speak, he continues to be victimised, vilified and crucified in a slow execution right before our eyes.

What did he do to deserve it?
He told the truth.
He dared to be the ultimate journalist, exposing American war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan, the slaughter of civilians, the killing of journalists, the torture of prisoners at Guantanamo and Washington's secret war on Yemen where mass murder still continues under the auspices of the White House.

Fun fact - all of these are undeniable crimes secretly documented by the US government itself; they were just not meant to be exposed by Assange.

The US was so embarrassed, and so hell-bent on vengeance, that it orchestrated a global campaign to destroy him with the complicity of vassal states like Britain and Australia.

Assange took refuge at Ecuador's embassy in London for seven years before British police dragged him out and threw him into a maximum-security prison that houses, terrorists, murderers and rapists.
Nearly three years later, after a sham trial in a kangaroo court, with the flimsy case against Assange thoroughly discredited, Britain's much-vaunted justice system has paved the way for his extradition to the US, where he faces certain death.

They have already dehumanised and reduced him to a suicidal, stroke-ridden, physical and mental wreck of a man, but they're not done with him yet.

Speaking of kangaroo justice, not a word, not a peep, out of the Australian government over this appalling persecution of its own citizen. They're all laser-focused on worrying about journalists in Hong Kong instead. Perhaps we should be flattered by all the love and attention.

By the way, we also know now that the CIA actually plotted to assassinate Assange in London, even exploring the option of murdering him in a street shoot-out.

Go democracy!

I quote American journalist Chris Hedges: "Julian Assange committed the empire's greatest sin - he exposed it as a criminal enterprise. He documented its lies, callous disregard for human life, rampant corruption and innumerable war crimes. Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Labour, Trump or Biden - it does not matter. The goons who oversee the empire sing from the same satanic songbook. Empires always kill those who inflict deep and serious wounds."

Is there no limit to the insufferable hypocrisy of these gangsters in glass houses, these emperors who have no clothes? They defecate all over human rights and press freedom in the name of national security whenever it suits them, calling it "justice".

When some other country they don't like does anything of that sort, it's "repression".

How convenient.

Here I quote another astute political commentator from the West, George Galloway: "If Julian Assange were a Chinese journalist and publisher, he'd have the Nobel Prize. He would be the centrepiece of Human Rights Day. If Chinese crimes rather than American crimes had been revealed by Assange, he would now be the poster boy for the Winter Olympics' boycott campaign."

What they're doing to this brave man who has done more for journalism than any of us is a travesty, an atrocity, an abomination.

Until and unless they free Assange, the US, the UK and Australia - and any other nation in bed with this menage a trois of morally bankrupt Western powers, pardon my French - have no right to preach human rights and press freedom to the rest of us.

Flush your own faeces first before you lecture us on sanitation.
