When Roy Hodgson and John Colquhoun were turfed out of Liverpool for Northampton and Konchesky and for playing like Fulham, Colquhoun used his links with Jeremy Peace to get Roberto di Matteo removed from his post as manager of West Bromwich Albion so that Mr Hodgson and his good self might be installed.

And so it came to pass...

Now.
West Brom are a bog standard lower division side whose manager will only commit to a new contract if there is a clause allowing him to leave if a better offer comes along.

And.
Di Matteo has taken over at one of the biggest teams in the world - won 10 drawn 2 and lost only one of 13 matches since taking over, including beating the best side in the world.
And Di Matteo is always true to his contract.
Like Guardiola.
Like all good managers.

Still...
Getting sacked by West Brom and having one foot in the Champions League Final.
